Ignition Circuit Breaker (does it need to be fused?)

My tach has always bounced around and other gauges change their reading after I turn on things like the Nav lights. I ran 4 gauge to a block for my amps right under the dash and am thinking about running power to the ignition from there (also plan to reground to grounding block). My thinking is that I'll get a cleaner source power for the dash. Should I put a 20 amp fuse in between by ignition breaker and power block? Technically it's a circuit breaker, but I'm leaning on the safe side with a fuse.

It's only $3 at Radioshack, so I'll just add one in there.

Has anyone else rewired their breakers/dash?

Yup I did on my 94 196.All my switches where busted when i bought the boat.Replaced them all with good quality waterproof rocker switches and kept one of the push button switches as the ignition.Right out the back of that is a 10 amp fuse .Belt and braces for me on that one.

I wouldn't do it. you are likely to induce noise into your audio system. Run a seperate #8 up from the battery for the ignition. The inductance of the wire will help to eliminate the noise in the audio system.

Should I put in a bus bar for grounding/power?

Run 8 gauge direct from battery and 8 gauge direct from ground.

The current daisy chain method doesn't seem like the best distribution method.
