    interchange fuel tank?

hey i was wondering if anyone knew if a fuel tank from a 97 ski would fit my 85 ski? i cracked my aluminum tank and am trying to replace it with a plastic one. the dimensions are close and it looks like it may fit. has anyone interchanged these? if not, any ideas on where to pick one up cheap?

You should be able to find an exact match. There are several companies that sell them. You would probably be fine with the 97, but you may as well get a closer fit if you can.
Moeller / Tempo is one mfg of them.

    good luck.

I think the 97 tank is slightly curved on the back side and the fuel fill goes on a angle or straight side ways. The 85 has it go in straight down.

yeah it is slightly curved. a friend at high sierra waterski school like down the street has the tank and for fifty bucks that would be rad if it would work.
