I just realized on sunday that my alternator is out and I'm trying to find out the quickest and cheapest way to get a replacement as I would desperately like to be able to use my boat for the 4th weekend.....actually was hoping to use it all day Friday too.....try to get some riding in before all the traffic hits on Saturday. The only kick is that I would really like to replace with a high output alternator to keep up with charging my sound system. I have a 1992 BFN with the 454 and I'll be heading up to Austin (hopefully) either Thursday night or Friday morning. If anyone has suggestions on what I need to do in order to put a higher output alt. on or if it's just a matter or hooking it up in the same spot (i.e. - I don't need to upgrade wires or anything else to handle to higher load).....and also any suggestions on where to go to get something, that would help me out a lot. Thanks.

RE: Need Help Quick...Alternator is out
SkiDim should be able to get you an alternator. Or any alternator shop should be able to take care of you in a 2 day turnaround and rebuild the one you have. I'd just look in the phone book for auto electric or auto alternator and start calling around. Where in Houston are you?Shane Hill
