Strange problem on 2003 Air Nautique.

My mate has had this intermittant problem for sometime, it went away for almost a year after probing around all the electrics, then after having the engine overhauled it has now come back and remains a solid fault. It appears as if limp mode has engaged but temp gage is normal and no check engine light, power is zapped to about 2600 RPM. In most cases turning the ignition off resets the problem but as soon as boat is up to say 32 mph it dies. Is there any way to be sure this is Limp mode because we also suspect a fuel problem. We tried disconnecting the engine coolant sensor to ecm but made no difference. Hope to get a pressure gage tomorrow to monitor the fuel. Anyone else had a problem like this?? Regards, Greg

Oh, one other thing, his Faria analogue speedo show a unknown symbol in the LCD display, its like a tall rectangle split diagonally, each half triangle flashes alternately. Anyone know what this indicates??? Cheers, Greg

Time to see if you can get a mechanic to read the OBDII (or equivalent) codes on which sensor is triggering the limp mode.

Note sure if an over the counter reader works on marine?
