211 Check Engine Light On

I have 2006 211 - check engine light on dash coming on, checked engine oil seems ok, also checked vdrive oil is on low side, had to put up boat before added vdrive oil, could the light be the vdrive oil? thanks.

I think the vdrive light is on the lower right of your dash. If I remnember right it says vdrive. Your engine light is on top of the instrument pod above your Tach and PP. Which is lit? The check engine light would be an engine problem and should put you in limp mode. The vdrive light will come on and off if the fluid is low or when you come off plane and reduce the RPMs, but should go off once the fluid starts circulating again.

It was the one on top of the instrument pod and it didn't go into limp mode, seemed to run fine.

Are you sure it's lighting up? I know on sunny days mine looks like it's on if the light hits it at the right angle, but when I shade it it's not on. Check that out. If it's truely coming on, I'd go to the dealer and see what they say.

I am having the same problem with an intermittent "check engine" light. Oil level and pressure is good. Belts are tight. Temp is about 160. Any ideas?

My check engine light came on the other day and for me it was due to some Hydrilla/gunk from the lake. It was clogged up inside my water filter and caused the boat to spaz out. Cleaned the screen and washed out the cup and it was fine. Hope your issue is that easy.
