Cracked Tracking Fins

I noticed the recall on the 2002 year tracking fins and decided to take a look at our boat. I saw some noticeable cracks that have begun to rust. Are these small enough to not worry about or could this cause a problem in the near future?

I believe that is a warrenty item. Call your local Nautique dealer.

That boat would be well out of warranty. You might check with your dealer anyway though. They might be able to do something for you. I had to have mine replaced on my '03 210 as well.

it was bought used as a promo. so we dont have a dealer. how bad and/ or how fast are they going to deteriorate?

Just so I understand, was the recall recently issued or was it issued back in 2002, shortly after the boat was manufactured? Also, did the recall cover more than just 2002? I would think that since it's a recall, a dealer should be able to help you out (or CC directly).

Recal replacements are publicated to part number. So if the part is in the specified range, give it a try.

I have had the factory supply parts on a "service" notice of some type. It would not hurt to ask.

The recall was issued in may 2003. Its in the sticky posted by Jeff if you want to take a look. i will contact a dealer later to see what they have to say.
