I assume the distributors in the picture with vacuum advance are the old ones. I would guess that the BBC is going DUI for the new ones?

Are you going to seal up the ends of the inboard motor mount stringers or does something else get added to that space.

Looks good can’t wait to see the shiny manifolds on there.

Probably will seal them for now. We'll be pulling everything out of this boat again in a couple of years for a total restoration.

Work is progressing on this boat....slowly. I had hoped to have it in the water a few weeks ago, but the work that is being done is being done very meticulously, and the guy I have doing it is doing a good job.

We're finding all sorts of little things that need to be fixed along the way, like torn blower hoses, broken wires, water strainers that need to be installed, fuel lines that need to be replaced, floor repairs that might as well be done now, ignition switches that don't have any keys, a broken stern light, etc. Work is ongoing, and the boat is improving almost every day. I am looking forward to getting it out of the world-famous BBC here in Mooresville, NC so that I have room for more of my project boats.

Exhaust manifolds and carburetors are ready to go on.

The engines are tilted at 100% capacity of the engine mounts, so we thought we had better try to level the carburetors. We'll be installing these wedges:



Here is the engine compartment as of today:





On Monday, we'll be using the engine hoist to lift the center console out of the boat (it is CRAZY heavy) so that the hinges can be reattached, and so that the teak supports on top of the floor can be reworked and reattached.

I wish this project would finish up! I have another guy working on it, and it is taking way longer than I expected. In his defense, it has been unbearably hot at the world-famous BBC here in Mooresville, NC lately, so he has been working partial days. That's why I do my work there at night.

Control cables are part-way installed. We're looking for appropriate plates for the carbs now.

Progress is still happening...slowly.

The floor has been repaired where the previous owner cut it out behind the engines.

The exposed foam has all been sealed in with new wood and epoxy.

Two of the four exhaust manifolds are installed.

Still need to do the brace across the back of the center stringers. That will give the floor back there some support. Batteries will go aft of the center stringers, and will be accessible through the hatch in the rear floor (not currently installed).

Stern light has been installed, and the nav lights all work now.

Progress has been picking up! We have the exhaust all mounted now, the carbs are mounted, the floor supports are built and working great, the battery switches are mounted, and the rear floor section is in, at least temporarily. It is starting to look like a boat again!

Work is continuing! We're getting close to firing the engines up. There are a few more odds and ends to finish up, but we're close! Won't be too much longer until it is on the water!!

Got the batteries for the boat today. Engines are very close. Just need to hook up a few cables, flush the gas tank one more time, and fire them up!

Teak is being refinished too, and looking pretty good compared to what it was!
