        Has anyone had trouble getting their GS22 up to surfing speed once the Wakemakers bags are full and the boat is loaded with 8-10 adults? My 2019 GS22 will not reach 11.2 MPH with full Wakemakers bags and 8-10 adults while in Surf mode with settings 1/5. I have to dump my tanks to around %80 if we have that many passengers. Although the boat will achieve wake-boarding speeds if profile is changed to wake-boarding.

              elevation is no issue. but IMO I feel the ZR4 is not sufficient motor for the GS boats. I think the hull design kills it. It is fine in the ski and 210, 230 type hulls.
              I had one in my GS20. I am at 6300 ft elevation. The boat would not get up to surf speed with 6 people and full ballast (non-pro ballast). I worked with Acme all summer and came up with a prop that made it probably "as good as it was gonna get". I hated it, sold it.

              I now have the H6 in the GS22. With pro-ballast and a boat load of people (it didn't matter how many), it had no issues. I have not run it fully ballasted with the Wakemakers bags at 6300ft yet, but did run it full at 4800ft with 2 kids and 2 adults. I noticed there was a very slight struggle to get up to speed. I am guessing I will probably need to reprop it this summer. It currently has the stock 1235 Acme.

                Which prop does your GS22 have?

                My GS20 came with a 13.25x16. I understand that Nautique uses this 16 pitch prop to improve top speed for slalom and barefoot, but I personally think a 16 pitch is a real problem when you start adding weight for surfing.

                Acme or OJ Props can help you if you need a different prop, but I can tell you that if your prop isn't in the ballpark of 13.5x14 your ZR4 isn't gonna do well with much additional weight. It will help if you distribute the weight evenly fore to aft, but if you have heavy rear bias your not gonna get to surf speed without a different prop.

                  My prop is an ACME 1235 14.5 x 14.25, which came stock on the boat from the dealer.

                    call acme and tell them what is going on. They will get you dialed. They will probably suggest running a 15" diameter and dropping pitch. maybe 15x13

                    My GS22 has the same prop, but I have H6. I am at 6300 ft and run full Wakemakers ballast.
                    I just talked to Acme and they recommended the 2315. 15x12 .105 cup.
                    I just received the prop yesterday. will install this weekend

                      Having just bought our 2020 GS22 this week, I won’t be able to take delivery for another 10 days when we’re back up at the Lake next. In the meantime, I assume that I will need to upgrade the Pro Ballast bags to the larger 800lbs WakeMaker bags for the G22 to get a killer wave. I upgraded my old Moomba LSV with a new IBS and bigger rear bags, all of which were plug & play. Is the WakeMaker GS upgrade kit a simple swap in/out? And does anyone have any before/after pics or videos showing the difference in waves?

                      TIA for any help on this, I’m hoping the hit the water with the best set up from Day 1 with your help

                        Does anyone else feel the four 90 degree elbow quick-release connectors that come with the WakeMaker ballast upgrade bags is not the best option? The fill/drain hose coming out of the engine bay on my boat barely clears the divider between the engine bay and rear locker. So when I put the WakeMaker 90 degree quick-release connector on it, it sits facing upwards and the bag gets pinched between the connector and the divider wall. It seems to me that it would be a lot less strain on the bags (and the connector), if they sent it with two straight connectors (for the fill/drain tube) and two 90 degree elbows (for the overflow). When I reached out to WakeMakers, they literally told me they've sold hundreds of these kits and nobody has complained about the setup.

                        Am I missing something? The ProBallast bags had a straight connector between the fill/drain hose and the bag, which seems to make more sense from a longevity standpoint. Perhaps it doesn't really make a difference?

                          sounds like you may have the old designed bags. my bags (the new design) have a straight fitting on the side, but at the rear of the bag. they point straight at the fill drain hoses and use a straight connect fitting. there is not really enough slack on the factory hoses. in fact, my starboard bag quick connect kept popping out.
                          i ordered a length of hose and 2 straight union pieces from wakemakers. i tried to lengthen the connections and only used the length of the union, nothing more. that made the set up on the port side too long and was actually pushing the hose into the water pump pulley. so that wasn't going to work.
                          the more I looked at it, I realized that the real issue was the connections were getting hung up on the compartment dividers and not allowing any movement. so i just took a 3" hole saw and made the factory holes bigger. now the hoses and connections have a slight amount of free play. the port hose is still fairly tight, I think I will make that hose slightly longer anyway. But so far, so good

                            Thanks for the response, Kylant. I think I do have the new design bags, as the fill/drain port on the rear-ish aspect of the bags points right at the fill/drain hose. Which is why it seemed to make more sense that they should have shipped with two straight quick-release connectors for the fill/drain ports. I ended up ordering two straight quick release connector but now am thinking I need more hose length after reading your description. Perhaps I'll start by drilling out the 3" hole and see if that gives the system enough play to allow things to not pop off.

                            Just so I'm clear though, the quick-connects are the 1 1/8" and the hose is 3/4", correct?

                            Man, I just wish the "plug-n-play" was just that, and didn't require fiddling like it does. Seems like it wouldn't take much for Wakemakers to make it truly plug-n-play. Woody, I guess there's your answer to if it's a "simple swap in/out". It is. Kinda.

                              my hoses are 1". i bought 1" unions and 1" hose from them and it was all fine.
                              i bought 1" water hose from my local boat mechanic to deal with extending the drain/fill hose on the port side. I haven''t done it yet, i am going to wait and see. I am dealing with the NSS cover holes right now

                                I have the GS20 with 650 bags from wake makers. Won't do 11....8-9mph is all I get.

                                Custom ordered a bag that fits under my front seats and one that fits between them thinking I needed more weight up front. Same issue. Even added 3 heavy bodies up front and still same issue.

                                I too have to drop to 80% almost exactly to get to 11mph.

                                I purchased the high elevation and heavy load prop, installed it 2 days ago but haven't put the boat back in the water yet.

                                Soon as I do ill fill it and let you know if it corrects the issue
