Brad, did you get a quote from the dealer? I got a couple of replacement skins for the rear seat of my 98 and the dealer's price wasn't all that much different than Nautique Skins. I think they even had them on the shelf at up at SW.

No I got a quote from nautique skins. The dealer could not match their price. I am ony needing the rear deck and rear seat back. Everything else was fine. I had a nice conversation via email about how well they would match since I am mixing old with new and feel really confident that I will be getting as close to factory as possible.

I can imagine that CC wants a pretty penny for that seat back. The seat bottoms skins were, I suppose a different story. But from all I hear, Nautiqueskins does fantastic work and will match up great. I really need to swing out and take a look at your boat. You got any interest in making a run to Perkey soon?

Someone would need to install them, so you would not be DONE with an order on the skins, but this is a good winter project.

            You said it.... winter project.

            ETS,

I might be ready in a few weeks. I am trying to finish some projects on the boat with my spare time right now. I am waiting on a few parts. Tomorrow I am going to finish polishing the hull. Then I am going to sand the deck and start buffing it. Once I get that done I can install the tower. Then I will be ready for a run to perkey. I have been dying to get this boat in the water.

Wait a minute, you haven't gotten it wet yet?

Dropped my bimini off at Moose for a little R&R in a few spots. Will be pulling the boat over to my glass guy who will be doing some re-pin striping and replacing a few decals while buffing what he couldn't get to before.

New belts are on the way. Then it's just a hole in the cover and spring maintenance for me.

                ETS,

Where did you have your boat buffed at? The quotes I have gotten are around $500 for a full detail. Got any ideas for someone a little cheaper?

                    Thanks,

I may have to but I am pretty nervous about doing it myself. I'm pretty sure I'd screw it up. Do you have someone you'd recommend for the job?

I always do it myself. If you dont want to give it a try use either Ski-N-Sports or charleys fiberglass work. Charleys will probably be the fastest.

Call Hector at G&B Boat Repair in Overton. We've used him for glass work and detail work. Having it buffed top to bottom can get expensive as he'll have to lift it off the trailer, but I had my boat done when I bought it and did not come close to that amount. He had it back to me within a matter of days. He does very good work at a fair price and I'm pretty particular about that sort of stuff.
