RE: excel and barefoot owners gallons per hr
Hard to say since we stop and hang out a lot. I also like to go fast from one side of the lake to the other just for the fun of it so maybe that evens thing out. I'm guessing about 8-10 gallons per hour of actual running? Just a guess though.

RE: excel and barefoot owners gallons per hr
My dad's 88 Ski with a 454 runs about 5gph for wakeboarding/skiing but if we do a lot of barefooting it runs closer to 7gph. This is figured over about 800 hours of time. My 94 Ski with the 351w I just got this year seems to be running about 5gph for everything but I have only run a couple of tanks through it so far. I know these boats weren't in your question but it might help give you an idea.94 Ski Nautique

Last week with a full tank of gas, about 900-1000 pounds of human ballast and a moderate chop in the water top end was around 39MPH while turning 4600 RPM. I've had it around 41-42 MPH on other days but don't remeber the specifics of additional weight or conditions. BTW, that's with a stock prop.
