When I upgraded from a 92 196SN to a 02 196SN, I sent the wife off to watch the England v Australia rugby game at Twickenham......while I picked up the new boat.
Unfortunatley my daughter was with me so when my wife came home, you can guess what the first thing out of her month was? .....Dads changed the boat!......oooppps! ice cold reception for a number of days.
So when I was planning to change the 02 196SN for an 05 196SN earlier this year, I left pictures of the replacement lying around the house and sure enough she noticed the different colour scheme.
"That's a far better colour scheme than our blue one" she said
"Glad you like it because I have just traded the blue one for that orange one" was my reply.
There followed a deathly silence and then the revelation, that she really must spend more time at the lake this year!
The ladies in our lives chose the house, furniture, carpets, colour scheme etc what do we get to pick.......the toys!
Just let them think they had some say in that too and all should be well!

Setting the stage...I had just test driven my boat a few days before.

The manager st SAMS Club just called to see if everything was ok. JEFF, I am looking through PN and I see Stereo and Accessories, Group Buy... Would marriage counseling be in OFF TOPIC? My wife was leaving the house a while ago and I asked where she was going. "TO THE MALL" She came back with this little round table that we looked at last week and both agreed was outrageously expensive. Should I tell her that with the new boat and all, we really can't afford that? Stuart236 are you in the area? I might need a place to stay until things cool down.

No I am not in the area but I used to spend a whole lot of time out in Junction and Kerville on about 2000 acres. :-)
Back in 2003 I bought an Audi RS6 and when I drove it home my wife had fire flying from her eyes but she was happy when a year later Audi bought it back for full purchase price do to a defect of the only American part on the car!!! HAHA!!

Can we say grapefruit for balls?
I'm in the Greensboro area. I will keep an eye for the Ferrari, and if I see it, I'll snap a shot and post it. Wife and me are still trying to locate a "clean good deal boat" Tried to get the 2000 SAN at Kerr Lake but sold too quick.
Have fun in that 211!!
By the way it's your house and belongings inside that house too, don't get booted out of any where. Flip the script on her if she can't deal with it-make her after all you've got grapefruits for balls!

On a somewhat related note last year around this time I came back from the dealer with some pictures and loan paperwork for our new boat. I left them on the kitchen table and told my wife to look at them. She came back into my office 10 minutes later and I asked her what she thought? She responded ok, fine! I picked up my office chair threw it accross the room and started slamming my hand against my desk leaving it bruised and bleeding. F*** ing FINE OK, that's all you have to say about our 40k plus purchase I screamed out...........She asked me why I was upset and I told her. She responded that she didn't see the boat pictures and was only commenting on the financial paperwork.

My wife and I have been married eight years. My father's advice before I married: "before SHE proposes, and before you decide whether to say yes or no, make sure SHE has a good job and can support the lifestyle you expect to have." She makes more money than I do and bought my last boat for me. Should I be ashamed? Not sure but I sleep well. Oh yeah, she's not ugly either.
