For me it is any of the current crop of 210's with Titan towers on them. In my opinion...they deserve mention in this thread.

In my opinion, that is an act of madness. Taking a top-of-the-line wake boat and putting a goofy aftermarket tower on it. Kind of amazing.

I agree with Erik, but for a little different reason. The FCT is probably the greatest invention in the wakeboarding industry in history. I consider the two most important things to have in a hardcore wakeboard boat being the tower and tanks, and both those simple but genius inventions came from CC. Today, we see companies making knock-off styles of towers everywhere, but there is still only one and true CC FCT. CC has taken pride in their invention, and has continued to offer them solely on their boats. Now, putting an aftermarket Titan tower, to me, defeats the whole purpose of CC feeling pride in their original invention, the FCT. When I saw the 226 w/ the Titan Tower on it, to me it was a sign of defeat from CC as if they were saying we admit that the competitions version of our invention is in fact better than ours... IMHO...

            Abundiga,

It's about business, not pride. First, CC has a patent on wakeboard towers. They get a royalty
on every tower in the market whether they produce them or not. Second, CC's customers are
asking for other options and CC is delivering (ironically, a common complaint on this site is that they don't offer enough choice). Third, CC produces about 2000 boats per year, maybe 75% have towers. Titan makes all the towers for Malibu, not to mention all of their aftermarket towers. It stands to reason that Titan can make the towers more economically.

I too like the FCT. To me it's become a trademark type look, and anything else just doesn't look like a Nautique. Nevertheless, business almost always wins over pride.

Yeah but I thought we could all agree that one of the great things about CC is that they really have more pride than you'd expect. Or at least, they used to. Ever since Terry took his position CC has been moving more into this business world that you speak of. This is good, but at the same time it is compromising some of the things that they once did take pride in... Also, they can't say that CC's towers are 'better' than the comp.'s. Just from a salesman's point of view, it is now this much harder to say that CC's towers are the greatest on the market, because, well, our main competitor selling the BU down the block is using the same ones... That's one less thing that sepearates CC from everyone else, making them stand out less, and innevitabely, if this continues, I agree with whoever said it and that CC may not be as elite as they once were...

CC did not invent the wakeboarding tower. They got the patent on it. BIG difference.

I think you're giving CC WAY too much credit here. As far as their ballast systems? Anemic at best... If you ask me, any "serious" wakeboarder is most likely going to be adding a thousand or two pounds... Ballast was not invented by CC, nor was the auto balast system.

Just my 2 cents. I acctually like the Titan, a lot more then the current '06 towers anyways...
                How about \"Chales\"?

CC didn't invent the tower, but I think they were the first to put it on a wakeboard boat. No one before them ever put two and two together... And as far as the ballast goes, I thought the story was that some good friend of a Meloon went up to one, and simply said it would be great if there was a way we could add and drain water from our boat to weight it down to make a larger wake--long story short. From there, I thought CC invented the LCS. I could be wrong, but I thought CC was responsible for bringing these into the wakeboarding industry.

CC was the first with a built in ballast system, not the "inventor" of ballast. BKH

Negative ghostrider, they pretty much ripped off the fishing towers. Then got a patent on the elevated sports tow tower so they could make $$ off of everyone else. Were they the first ones to offer it on a boat from the factory? Perhaps, but they definitely did not invent it. They merely implemented and patented an already existing product so they could collect royalties on it. All I will give them credit for is the foresight to take advantage of such an opportunity.

With the LCS, again, they may have been the first to offer it, but I wouldn't say they innovated anything, other guys were making auto ballast systems before they were made by CC.

I've been in that boat. That was the first weighted 210 I ever rode behind. Screw the colors the wake was sick. i was hooked before that, but after made it even worse. That's the boat you buy if your girl is against getting a boat. You have to make it her colors, which I could deal with for having that nice of a boat.
