Boat Suggestions Watersports Business

Hello All,

I'm in the initial stages of researching the viability of a watersports business. I intend to focus on wake surfing, but I'm sure plenty of tubing and knee boarding will be done. I'm wondering if I need a G23 for this, or if a GS22 would suffice (definitely don't want a 25 ft boat). Keep in mind that 6 passengers is the most that I'll ever have in the boat at one time. I don't want to sacrifice the surf wave for the tubers, but I think most of my customers wouldn't need a G series wake to have a fun surf experience. thoughts? Fuel economy is also a factor, being that I'm trying to make this a profitable endeavor. Oh, and this is going to be in salt water exclusively, so coastal recommendations I assume are a must. I understand that it will ruin the boat and resale value, but that's ok if we can spent time together as a family, have a business together. Thank you for your thoughts. Please comment on anything relating to this endeavor. We live in a tourist town and I really want to start the business to get families (including mine) outside and on the water. Thanks in advance!

During the summer, a ski school near me runs a lot of ski "camps" that consist of 5-6 kids on a boat with lunch. It helps fill slow daytime off hours. Tubing and double knee boards keep multiple kiddos engaged, and having a group makes the price reasonable for parents. Your boat will get beat up anyway you do it. If you are successful, you will need two boats. A dedicated surf boat and something like an old 210, X-star, direct drive Sunsetter for other than surfing (unless you have to fight big boat wakes or waves). The cost of a new boat is tough to absorb, especially being salty. Good luck.
