What year did Nautique introduce the rear sun shade? Was it 2020 or 2021? Or, was it a different year? Can it be added on to a used boat, or does it have to be put on during the build process? Thanks

I'm not certain on exactly what year it came out, but you'd have to modify the swim platform to put the pole inserts into the fiberglass.

Thanks Bird_dog. I figured it would take modification since it goes into the swim platform. I wonder if there is a way to just drill it out and put the insert into the platform similar to adding a thru hull for ballast or speedo. I have looked at a lot of used boats and it would be nice to be able to add that feature on.
Also, how does it mount to the tower/bimini?

I know you're not asking about this, but I found this a few months ago when I was looking for a rear shade solution. I'm 1/4 the way through making this work for me. https://www.planetnautique.com/vb5/f...651#post647651

The "stock" one that you can order as an option for your boat has clips on the front end that attach to the receiving clips on the top of the bimini that are sewn onto it. The back side has some rings IIRC that attach to the carbon poles (flexible like tent poles) that you insert into the swim platform then hook the shade onto. The shade material is much like the external shade material I have on my home windows, it might be exactly the same but I'm not certain. The shade in the link above appears to be solid fabric like the bimini, whereas my shade still allows some light through but there's no heat from it.
