NSS plates extended above 13 mph?

So would that be a computer update for improved stability on the 2019 GS22/24?

So I actually spoke to a person at Nautique on Friday. He did re-confirm that the 19-20 GS 24's and 2020 GS22's extend the plates one inch above 13mph. When I asked why, he said to improve stability and it can't be disabled. The guy did offer some suggestions to help clean up the wake. I was impressed that someone actually called me.

Over the weekend I did a lot of tweaking on the NCRS/NSS settings and ballast levels. I was able to get the wake board wake pretty clean at 22-23 mph. I had to empty the belly ballast about 50% and put NCRS on 5 to get it completely out of the way. With the belly full it lowers the bow and gets the "ski boat" part of the hull down in the water which washes the wake for whatever reason. I've also figured out that the boat is very sensitive to uneven weight side to side. I've learned to use the ballast shift to compensate if I can't get people in perfect spots.

Figuring out how to get the wake board wake cleaned up has relieved my initial frustration with the plates extending. Overall we are extremely happy with the boat and it is now performing exactly how it is supposed to.

Be patience, it will take approx one year before you will figure out all the settings and how that boat handles under a variety of situations.

It occurred to me while wakeboarding this weekend that you can see the NSS plates clearly from behind the boat at wakeboard speed. Obviously they are fully retracted on my G23. I'd be curious to see this view from a 2020 GS boat.

If they have to deploy the plates to improve handling....... I just don't know about this one...

Still makes no sense. Post pictures as Kmayotte states with plates deployed at wakeboard speeds. Did you talk to a tech at Nautque or just some goon in customer service?

Yea. Whoever told you they did is full of BS. I really hate it when dealers do this. They get a question and instead of saying "Let me look into it" because they don't know the answer, they just make one up on the spot so they don't sound dumb.

A few months ago someone here had a boat that was overheating at idle when he first started it. His dealer told him "You have to get up to plane to prime the pump." Complete and utter nonsense....

My 2020 GS24 extends both NSS surf plates 1" above 13 mph. This ruins the ski and wakeboard wake. Dealer says it's normal and that Nautique built it into the new software to prevent chine lock for a loaded boat. Do any of you have experience with this on a 19-20 GS boat, specifically the GS24?

There is absolutely no way Nautique purposely deploying both surf plates above surf speeds. That's just not what they're engineered for. IMO opinion you have an issue and your dealer has his head up his butt. Sorry, I can imagine you're frustrated with your new boat.

If Nautique is using the NSS plates in this fashion the boat has serious design problems. I'd have to doubt they'd be letting a product go out the factory that performs that poorly.

I sincerely hope you guys are right. I purposely bought a GS so we could surf, wakeboard, and ski behind it. I'd hate to think I spent this much money on a boat that only does one of those correctly.
