Re: RE: Attention to Detail
Yes I did Hollywood it is harmless to it as long as you no what you are doing and don"t stay in one spot to long. I have got some more pics If there is room on this thread. I took all of the bow cover snaps off and polished them, as well as the cleats on the sides..Originally posted by HollywoodDid you go right over the pin stripe? It looks awesome, I've given some thought to buffing out the '88 this winter and this is further motivation.ISN\'T LIFE BETTER IN A NAUTIQUE!!!

Hey, that looks great.
What polish, pads, wax combination did you use. Ive been meaning to go over our SAN for some time now.
What grit wet/dry did you go to before using the buff. We have scrathes on the hull from the trailer bearers that are beyond buffing out, so the next step is wet and dry.
Cheers.

I used 3m products started with 2000 grit/wet dry to get the gel coat super smooth make sure you keep it very wet and go in one direction only. The more time you spend on this step will depend on how much light you want the finish to project. In lay terms how glossy you want it.. I then went with 3m rubbing compound you can get a small bottle at wal mart for $10. After that you will need to go over it with finishing material also made by 3m, that will remove the compound scratches. Then go over it with a good polish material I use 3m for that too, you will need a good foam pad for this step. The other steps you can use a wool hookit pad mine is made by makita.. And final you can apply a good coat of wax, and look at all of your hard work and be proud!Originally posted by lbz99smpHey, that looks great.
