    What should I list my 2017 G23 for ?

    Looking for some advice here...

I have a 2017 G23 with normal black white and grey colors. It has the 550, M series studio elite 4 speaker, Bimini, heaters, basically almost all options with Ramlin trailer. The boat was new for 144K plus trailer and Bimini so really I was at about 155 at the start of the year. Please let me know what you think would be a good list price given current market conditions.

    Thanks

There was another thread recently about this exact issue.

Here is my rule of thumb, but I have been accused of being tight. You lost 10% the day you pulled it off the lot and it became a used boat, then another 10% the day that another model year came out. So for your 155K boat, I think you can sell it for 155-31K = 124K. Depending on taxes on used boats/trade ins in your state, it may vary. If I were looking at buying it, and I have to pay another 10K in sales tax when I get it back to Utah, 134K would be so high as to move me to a new boat, and I would not even buy it at 124K. Also given that boating season is winding down, you may be in for a little bit of a beating to get her sold before Christmas. But that is just one tightwad's opinion, I suspect you may get more if you sell to someone who reduces their tax burden by buying used.

I can respect that logic ... It is just a little to low for me. I think that would be closer to a trade in number for me to look at rather than a private party sale price. I am thinking of listing 140 to 144 ish...

140ish might be good, give or take a little.

The market is going to pretty small for a used boat at $140k...sorry....

I think $140 is pretty optimistic, but good luck! Let us know how it goes!

Location, time of year, and even colors are also governing factors.

The planet Nautique G23 is listed at 119K on Onlyinboards. I don't think the 550 will net you as much of a percentage of the original price as the overall boat.

post up a few pics of your boat?

yikes, i forgot about that. And his ad says, "Asking $119k." Implying that he would come down a bit...

I don't get everyone who buys a new boat and then sells it at the end of the season. And then expects to get retail for it. I've been trying to figure this out all summer with all the ads for season ending listings. I don't remember this ever happening 3, 4, 5+ years ago.

When I bought mine it was a yr old and I pretty much ignored the ones with the 550s because being forced to run premium gas wasn't something I wanted to worry about. I think if you get 115k then you might be lucky this time of yr.

i bought mine from a board member here in St. Cloud, MN so I would be the likely type of customer you may run into. Especially since we only 3-4 weeks of riding weather

Your member info says you have a G with a 450........ those were also a "93 octane premium fuel required" engine.

To the OP- with what you paid for your 17, I believe it will be a little difficult to sell it without taking a pretty good hit. I think a lightly used 17 in perfect condition, would probably sell fairly easy at 115-120k. If you have time, and leave it out there a while, you might get 125-130k if you are lucky.

Not to hijack but the 450 requires premium? I thought that was just the 550s?

I'm in agreement with Bevostein. 450s do not require premium only 550
