If they're going to incorporate the GS tower, I'm assuming the beam will increase to 100"? She's going to be a big girl me thinks! Good luck to them, but I think this will be a turn off to the 200 demographic.

The GS is considered a multisport boat. Probably not a great hull for ski, and it is heavy. However, I can say for sure that the visability afforded by the dash is exceptional. Making the bow somewhat wider and more open is probably a concession to families, and if they make the OB and CB versions, I can see where the tower might be great for the addition of the bimini. The MC ski mule got wider, and its a pretty comfortable inboard.

We just bought a new Prostar, and it's wide, but only 1" wider than the current 200. They also reduced the length, FWIW. It's as big and family friendly as I personally want to get. We'll see what CC comes up with. I hope it's not a butchered Prostar knock off like another new model out there

Any word on the 2018 Ski Nautique 200? I am also a little concerned that no one else has asked about it since May. I can't be the only one waiting for its release. The 2017 model is still up on the Nautique website, but all other Nautique boats are 2018 models. Insight anyone?

My dealer said stay tuned for a November announcement of the 200R. Said there's a chance it'll be a 2018.5 model year. I guess we just need to wait it out...'08 196LE (previous)

I heard the same thing from my dealer. As well as some rumors I won't spread, that sounded pretty wild.

A wider hull is part of what makes the 200 so nice. A little wider sounds even better. More room up front? The front of the 200 is kind of tiny. Making it more roomy without compromising slalom wake seems brilliant.Originally posted by swc5150If they're going to incorporate the GS tower, I'm assuming the beam will increase to 100"? Who says they would have to adapt to the tower size? Why not just change the tower.

Maybe? But I've yet to encounter a baller in person or on a user forum that feels tournament boats are currently too small. If anything, there's still wishing for the return of the 196.Originally posted by Tryathlete View Post

Very well could? We'll see. Hardly any 200's are ordered with towers now, but perhaps the new boat will push to change that? All I can say is I've yet to hear a baller/target customer excited by the highlights in the spec release, minus the wake aspect. Promo boats are already becoming a rarity, and it's hard to see how a bigger, hence more expensive boat is going to help that...unless the plan is to garner more runabout sales? But then isn't that part of the GS series appeal? Whatever the case, I'm still excited to see what they come up with.Originally posted by Wake.BC View PostWho says they would have to adapt to the tower size? Why not just change the tower.

I’m not even sure if having a new fancy tower would be necessary.
The true ski guys aren’t going to want one and anyone else will be more than happy with a gs...
