Question about mojave interior, how hot?

Hello everyone, I am about to pull the trigger on an ordered 17 G23 with Mojave interior. does anyone have any experience with this color in the hotter climate areas, I live in the Orlando area and it gets pretty dang hot here in July and August. My current Axis interior is charcoal which gets really warm in those months. We will more than likely just use towels to lay down if we are sitting in the sun but was just curious. We really like the white but here in the Central Florida area we have Cypress trees that turn the water really brown and almost ruins anything it touches, hence the brown interior. I know that Malibu uses a cooler viynl just wasnt sure if Nautique did as well.

    Thanks
    Sean

I went with the mocha on my ordered boat for Georgia. I asked everybody I could, they all said it wasn't a problem. Scout has been using the color for years.

I live in Houston and have been in G23s with the brown seats many times. It gets ridiculously hot to the point you have to wet a towel down and put it over the seats to sit. I would never order that color unless I lived in Canada.

I remember awhile ago there were talks about doing a side by side test with a thermal gun. Light interior vs the dark but I'm surprised someone hasn't done this yet and posted real data/results.

Hot is hot. I don't think any color stays cool enough in direct sunlight to sit on with exposed skin. Even my white/grey interior in the NH summer sun.

I have tried the Tungsten Grey interior over the winter on a sunny day, with jeans it was too hot to sit at the dealership so I wont even dare to try mojave in my climate in the summer.

We have experience several 90 degree days. So far, I am EXTREMELY pleased with the temp of my mojave interior. I had a Mastercraft with grey, black and yellow seats. I feel that it is cooler than that. Nobody has used a towel for the seat.

I plan on taking my temp readings off of it at some point.

I have Mojave interior on mine, but my climate in VA is less hot than the state of Georgia; thus far not hot. Some pics attached of my 2017 G23

Great looking interior. And I'm looking at a boat that has it too. So this was a perfect question for me to stumble upon. Interesting that there are such different opinions. I like it so much, I may have to buy a bunch of extra towels.

                        ^This

I had white in my '16 G, and it would get scorching hot over here in VT. I have Mojave now, and will be curious if it is worse. Supposed to be 90 and sunny tomorrow (85ish later today), so I will get a pretty good idea of what it will be like......

which begs the question........ WHY THE HECK IS NAUTIQUE NOT USING AN ADVANCED VINYL?!?!?!!?!

I had 5 MCs before my G, and they all had the stay cool carbon weave vinyl. No matter if it was a 95 degree day, with direct sun, and no wind........ it never got hot. It is also breathable, so I didn't get the slimy sweaty mess when sitting in the same spot for a while. Not to mention, it is much more durable. I really hope they finally switch to a new advanced vinyl soon.

2018 models will have a "Cold Solar" vinyl option, if you can wait until Aug or Sept to get your boat? If it's as good as MC's "Cool Feel" then you'd be golden.

I have mojave on my 16' g23. I would say that there is some truth to some of the dark colors=hot seats comments BUT in reality the boat is quite often shaded due to the great Bimini and we tend to use towels as well. I live in NC and on really hot days I want a towel between me and any color vinyl boat seat period!!! Vinyl and skin is not a great feel imho. Use microfiber towels and u will be more comfortable and never have a heat problem.
The mojave is definitely a winner when it comes to not looking dirty. If you are like me it will never be an issue.
