I can tell you that when I ski at our club behind an '07 Nautique 196, we use about 1 gal of gas per set (6 passes) and everyone brings 2 gals of gas each day for 2 sets and the fuel gauge stays constant. When I bring my '17 Nautique 200 w/5.3 H5, we put the same amount of gas in and at the end, we have extra gas but I haven't tried to figure out how much extra gas. Basically, since it's my boat, I don't bring gas and their gas is enough for my skiing too.

Is it possible to order a new, 2018, 200? I thought the 200 was being replaced with the "R" model.2018 200 Team H6

josemolino I also have the ZR409. Larger boat than yours and run 4700lbs of ballast @ 11mph and 3400rpm. I average 4-4.5 GPH and am very happy with that. I would assume you probably use a little less fuel than that? Have you tracked your GPH? I have meticulously tracked mine for that last 100hrs and that # stays my average no matter what I do (mostly surfing) but also some 25-30mph to surf spots or cruising, only time I idle is going back to fallen rider (which granted can be 50% while surfing, depending on the surfer skills). If boat is not moving, its turned off in effort to keep my hours down so that calculation does not include sitting around in neutral. I say all that only cause I highly doubt the H5 is gonna do much better than that, especially in heavier boat like the G21 you have.

If the 5.3 is rated at 355 and my 343ex is close to 343hp then I wouldn't buy it. Mines a 21' but I am higher altitude around 4K but it sucks and I've propped it twice...

I have the 5.3l in a 200. I have not had it at altitude, but I do have some time in a number 343 powered boats. The 5.3l is direct injected and is snappy and has noticeably more torque than the 343, imo. Several jumpers on ball of spray commented that the 5.3l is pretty close in performance to the 6.0l 409. If you are really worried about power, the 6.2l is a monster and the way to go, but I'd consider the 343 a bit doggy compared to the 5.3l.
