Wake on 2000 Ski Nautique 196

I am thinking of buying a 2000 Ski Nautique 196. I have slalom skied behind a 2004 Ski Nautique as a reference point and I love the wake. My question is how is the wake with the 2000 model? Does anyone know?

For slalom, you won't notice a difference in wake.

Thanks. Anything else I should know that could make the buying decision a little more difficult?

I'd just say get the newest, cleanest 196 your budget permits. All ski incredibly, it's just the newer you go, the easier is it to install ZO...or it'll already have it. Through 2002, make sure the gauges are updated to Faria from the crap Telelfex too. Also, the ECM on the GT40 will not register true hours, if the gauges have been swapped. The Excalibur will, so just another bonus of buying newer. Don't get me wrong though, the GT40 is a great engine, it's just nice to know exactly the hours you have on it.

I ski behind TSC 1-3s on a regular basis and I can't tell the difference between the three hulls at all.

As for the hours go, SWC5150 made a solid point on the gauges. IF they are the digital ones you can almost guarantee they do not reflect the correct hours. With the GT-40 of that era you cannot tell and would at minimum want a mechanic to perform an basic engine check like compression and what not. If it has PP you can read the engine run hours on that.

TSC 1 hull on the 2000 is one of the best skiing hulls ever made. At long lines and slow speeds even better then a TSC 2 hull. Awesome boat for skiing

Thank you to you all. I appreciate it. Now if I could just get the guy to respond to my emails regarding selling the boat. He may be experiencing seller's remorse!

I have a 2000 pro air that I will be selling if you'd like to look. I bought it New in 2000 and had been at the Ozarks ever since.

Looking specifically for a slalom boat. Pro Air bigger than desired.
