Hey guys. recently bought some seadek for transom/swim platform. Any tips on removing the old sano. Its starting to get dry/ brittle and flake off. Plus its hard on the knees. Any help appreciated.

Nope. I used heat gun too. Used plastic 1 1/2 inch scraper to get it started then heated it slowly as I pulled it up. Came off pretty clean and almost in full sections. Using the heat gun also leaves minimal adhesive behind. Wipe clean with some acetone after and viola.

I agree with everything above. But would add that acetone will also help get the residue off as well as goo gone. If you use goo gone definitely hit it with some acetone before applying the Seadeck. I didn't use a heat gun on mine. I just let it sit in full Texas afternoon sun for an hour or two beforehand. Took a couple of hours to do the swim deck and transom. It's a nice upgrade.
