Hello all, is there any reason not to buy a 2013 G23 for mid 70s? We would use it almost primarily for surfing. It has been used in saltwater but is a coastal edition. I would get it inspected by the local Nautique dealer.... Struggling with pulling the trigger for some reason.

I have a 2013 G23 but there is no way I would sell it in the 70's. It would be more like mid to high 90's.
It's a great boat for surfing and boarding. If the one you are looking at was maintained well you should look hard at it. How many hours?Last edited by swankster; 12-07-2015, 05:13 PM.2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop

Salt can be bad... That said, I have seen some salt use boats that had better care than some fresh..... Usually Salt water people buy saltwater boats.... A low hour G in the low to mid 70's I think would be a good price if it had decent care.

As long as it is coastal edition, checks out by a mechanic, and you look in all compartments and do not see rusting hardware, that is a great price. I assume it has the 409 or larger motor? Not sure if they ever sold one with a 343.

A 409hp is going to be on the weak side as it pertains to power and what you can do with the boat.
If stock ballast is enough for you... It could be a good match.
But if you wanna run stock ballast + 1500-2000+ more to get a raging wave... The 409 won't make you happy.2019 G23 450

You're in pretty good shape then. You'll need a 2315 prop... And you'll be able to run ~1500lbs over the stock 2850 ballast.
I would characterize it as being able to do 85-90% of what the new 17" prop'd G boats can do.2019 G23 450
