    2016 changes with exhaust

Nobody had mentioned it yet, so I will. My 2015 had just a surf pipe and when you made a tight corner and the pipe came out of the water, you could hear it due to no muffler. The 2016 boats have a muffler added to the system as well. They are much more quiet.

I've kind of loved that rumble that happens when you pull a hard corner, but I am sure the wife will like the more quiet ride in those situations. Thanks for the update.

I installed a surf pipe on my 2012 210 when I had it. It already had muffler and kept it that way when I did the install. That boat was extremely quiet running at wakeboard speeds with both. It was more quiet than my 2015 g21 with only surf pipe while sitting in the cabin. I like the idea myself.

Coming from my 400 hp LY6 powered XStar...I'm interested to see how I'm going to feel about this in the new G! I usually love the sound of a motor, sometimes I prefer that over the radio! And my Star had a gorgeous exhaust note (it had no surf pipe) since the exhaust ports were completely uncovered when under throttle! I will say, it did get tiresome on a boat though when trying to wakeboard or surf. You could pretty much forget trying to talk to the rider!

By tight corner do you mean power turn or just slight turn to get a straight line run? The only other situation I can think of doing a tight turn is on a man made ski lake for the turn arounds.

On my 15 G23 the turn does not have to be that sharp. No power turns here. But several times a set (surf or wake) making a turn it comes out. It seems to take less of a turn surfing to pull it out of the water. I'm assuming the boat rolls more when surfing.

I don't mind the sound at all. But I'm sure there are others that do.

MC has the best sounding exhaust in my opinion. I ride in a 13' X-Staar with the 7.4. Wicked sounding!

I like the surf pipe which is rather quiet except when turning. I'd prefer the lack of a muffler but it's probably a nice touch for most buyers.

I think he is referring when he gets to the end of the run, and makes a tight turn to get back around into the path that he just came. Essentially, what you referred to as the "tight turn on a man made ski lake"...many perform that kind of turn, no matter what size lake they are on.

Oh yeah, that scenario escaped my mind.
