Bilge pump setting

On my previous Nautiques, there was a dual pole switch: bilge only / off / all. If I left the boat in the water over night, I'd turn the primary battery switch off and leave the small DP switch on "bilge" to keep the bilge pump active while cutting off current to all other items.

What is the comparable setting for my 2015 G23 without the DP switch? Do I just leave the primary battery switch on?

2 things for overnighting a G in the water:

-keep the red Perko switch on any of three settings: 1, 2, 1+2. Just not on OFF. OFF = no bilge.

-Power off the Linc...and ensure the blue LED for the bilge continues to blink on and off. Good to go.

Another hint is to take your Class III throwable and lean it between the steering wheel and the dash to cover the bright blue blinking bilge LED..... especially if you keep it uncovered. if left uncovered and visible...every bug within a mile will consider that blue light as the equivalent of the hot stripper doing a pole dance. they will all come and camp out on your dash and driver seat to watch the show. And then the Spiders follow to get dinner. And birds perched on the tower to view the carnage below early AM. The whole cycle of life all up in your G due to the bilge LED.

I think we have trained them to look for the blue light. Zapper option in 2016?

Thanks Nyryan for the info. I was JUST going to ask the same question that Richard did in light of the other post going on with the boat full O' water. My 2010 226 had that separate bilge switch and I was wondering myself what to do different on the G for overnight sits. This is especially wise now in Texas since we are getting heavy dumps of rain every few days and I wanted to overnight a few nights on the dock this 4th of July. Again, thanks for the info and have a safe 4th.

thanks...I've been at the lake since Thursday and all is well...bilge on over night and seacocks closed....

You likely don't need to close the seacocks on yours.... The 2015s have a mechanical valve that closes.


But the blinking bilge light.... Now that needs covered!

Not all 2015 boats have the automatic seacocks. My early-2015 G23 does not.

And I posted in another thread.... anyone with Gs may not need to close seacocks.

I found that seeping ballast bags was a symptom of worn ballast impellors. Now fixed.... no seepage at all, seacocks open overnight.

closing seacocks is over kill...but takes a few seconds. My boat was built in December, so it does not have the auto seacocks on the ballast bags. Those appeared on builds starting 1/2015. FWIW, my starboard ballast impeller is clearly letting water pass at rest...and it's slower to fill. I'll replace when I get a chance.

Richard.... before you replace it.... remove it and put it in/run it backwards.
