Anybody know where to get one? Our state has instituted a flag policy for 2015. Most retarded thing ever. Now people will be looking at boats instead of where riders are. I just don't see the benefit. Put your boat between the rider and oncoming traffic. Problem solved. The nanny state continues.

We have the same requirements in Oregon. Try this site.

I bought one at the Lake County Boat show for $5. I'm going to tape it to my fly hi and put a rubber band around it when not in use
If it ain't broke, sell it.

We use them when we are towing adaptive skiers/riders. We have them up the entire time we are in "pull" mode even if we are in between riders. I'm not sure if that is the correct use of them, but it is what the organization that we work with wants us to do, and its not a big deal. I'm glad we dont have to deal with it on a daily basis. BTW does your state require spotters?2005 Ski Nautique 206 SE, Acme 422, PP SG 8.0, ND Tower

Utah has an orange flag law. Most of the time people don't do it right. Sometimes they keep it up the whole time. The Utah law states to put the flag up only when you have a downed rider. It now sounds like in Illinois, people will constantly leave the flag up regardless of whether they have a rider behind or not. Utards do that all the time.

Missouri has had this for a good long while. Flag up when skier is down. Enforcement is lax at best on LOTO, as long as you have a flag in the boat somewhere, you are ok. There are bigger issues at hand for the understaffed water patrol to deal with on that lake.

AZ has the flag law. Rider down flag up. I agree it is kinda dumb. If you need one in a hurry I usually find a road construction site and grab one off a sign.
Speaking of dumb rules. AZ doesn't require the PDF to be coast guard approved and spotter must be at least 12 and be "physically and mentally capable". My 8 year old daughter knows more about boating rules than most of the dumbasses out there. She always spots for me while my wife drives.2002 Nautique Super Sport, 5.8 litre GT40 with Flight Control Tower
