Pan is to mount the fill pump on the fitting coming though the hull. We will see how well that works out when I get it and see how big it is. The drain pump will be mounted directly below the tanks. I don't think I have much of a problem with that part of it. Have you heard of people threading a new port into the top of those tanks for a vent? If possible, I could thread a new 3/4" port on top of the tank. Just not sure how strong it would be and how well it would seal without the tank being reinforced at that spot.

You may find that a 90 or 45 is needed between the t-hull and ball-valve, then the pumps attaches, This gets the pump over on its side. This still allows for the outlet to be pointed up, as long as the pumps inlet above it.
i have not hear of a new fitting being put into a hard tank. Check with an RV fabricator. There are places that make those tanks custom for RV. They may have some ideas. Just know, the faster you pump water in, the faster the air needs to escape. Same with draining, just in reverse. Soft sacs are more forgiving.

This is the pump I ordered. Is it important for the outlet to be pointed vertically up? Looks like the inlet is female 1" NPT and that is on the bottom of the pump. I'm sure I can round up whatever fittings I may need at our shop.

Okay so after some modifying on the boat this weekend, I ended up getting one of the 2000 gph pumps to fit in place for filling the tanks. I will have to send back the other 2000 gph pump because of inadequate space below the tanks for mounting. I actually posted another thread on here about removal of the muffler and replacing it with a wye pipe. Would give me space to use the 2000 gph pump. For now, I will rehook up the existing 750 pump to make sure the whole system is going to work, and then maybe pick up a 1200 gph pump if the system works okay. I ended up mounting the fill pump in the middle ski locker. It fit nicely, will start piping everything in next weekend, now that I made a list of all the fittings I need to get.
