Rear facing removeable seat, anyone ever ordered one AFTER purchasing their boat? I don't feel like calling my dealer and didn't see one on nautiqueparts.com I assume they're stupid expensive and I'm pretty used to seeing them in storage lockers, wondering what 230 owners think? Worth it? Are they just something in the way 50% of the time? Anyone know what they cost if not purchased with the boat? Thanks

We have one in our 230, love it! It stays in my boat all summer, plus it's a great wake to shift weight side to side if needed.
As for the cost, I've heard they're expensive, something like $1500?2008 230 TE-ZR6

we use ours 50% of the time. useful when you need the extra seats, in the way if you only have 5-6 people in the boat. as suggested, it does act as a great way to tune the wake by have the (typically) one person sitting there move. if this tells you anything, for $1500 i'd probably sell you minei'm guessing you could have one made for much less.

I don't think this is just a matter of purchasing the seat. I believe the mount and bottom cushion aren't correct if the rear-facing seat wasn't ordered. The seat slides in on two posts. There has to be something for that to slide into.

Charles thank you for your response. My extended family of teachers just went in and bought our first boat - a 2008 Super Air Nautique 230 Team Edition and unfortunately we just discovered that we don't have the actual rear facing seat. I thought I would simply be looking for the seat and a backrest. Am I correct or is there more to it?
Thank you for any help!

They all did on the Starboard side. That's standard equipment. On both of the 230s I owned, the Port side seat was an option. And it fit through a hole in the seat bottom. I don't believe that hole and mount were there on all boats. I think it was part of the option.

I think you would just need to add a pair of these latches to the under side of what I circled above in order for the seat to drop in and lock into the boat but this is just a guess on my part as my boat did not come with a seat. I have been kicking around the idea of fabbing up a seat but over 2 summers of owning my 230 it's rare that I have felt a need for it and feel like it would be in the way more often than not and end up just taking up space in my garage.
