Just curious what to use to clean the outskirts of the engine top, sides etc. Just picked up my 1997 SN and they did a great job cleaning the boat but the engine could use a little work.

You can use a citrus engine degreaser being careful to not spray high pressure water on critical electrical components or connections. -

After you get it clean corrosionx is real good to coat the engine with. It will not hurt rubber products on the engine. Keep it off of belts and pulleys this stuff is slippery. I also use another one of their product called rejex. I use it on the boat, car and the windows of both instead of wax.
