    Replacing Factory Ballast Pump Question

I would like to replace the factory pump on an 01 Super Air with something faster. Ideally I would like a easy replacement setup where plumbing and electrical are compatible to the factory system "Plug and Play" so to speak. Are there 2 pumps? One for filling and one for emptying?
Not so much worried about the empty speed, I usually just leave a vapor trail while towing back to the house.
Also tinking with the idea of adding a center locker ballast and hard wiring another pump in to the system. Anyone have experience or a thread that has information on this? Thanks.

If you boat is stock, it has one 750 gph aerator pump to fill both tanks and one to empty both tanks. Some people add another set of pumps. That way the rear tanks fill and empty twice as fast. It could be done rather easily.

I chose not to do that on mine because I added locker sack that is filled and emptied by 750 gph aerator pumps. Since I have a 750 gph emptying a 600 lb locker sack, the rear tanks empty before the locker so I didn't need to upgrade the speed of the rear tanks. I may do it in the future if I upgrade the overall speed of the pumps but it works good for me now. Also, I revised the routes of the rear tanks and have them emptying out the side of the boat.

As far as a locker lock, I added one on my boat. It's tee'd into the factory thru-hull scupper and fills with a 750 gph aerator pump and empties with another 750 ghh pump. It empties out the side of the boat. Below is a schematic that I prepared.

Also, click on the link in my signature to go to my wakesiderides page. I have some pics on there showing the dash plate that I made. Let me know if you have more questions or if you need some more pics. I'll be glad to help.[/img]
