Cleaning Seadek?

Hi guys,

I'm a wakeboarding instructor at a youth camp and we run Nautiques, a 2013 230 and a 2014 210. Both have quite a bit of seadek, which is starting to slightly discolor from all the kids getting in and out of the boats. Any suggestions on a deep clean? I was thinking Simple Green with a soft bristle brush but I wanted to see what you guys do.

i was wondering the exact same thing. hopefully someone has some experience.

I scrub it with a brush in the same direction as the grain, and extract it with my carpet cleaning truck....just don't leave any harsh chemicals sit on there too long as you risk breaking down the glues. Wash rinse repeat. Haha!

"SeaDek cleans easily with soap, hot water and a stiff brush.
A number of household products can be used such as SoftScrub, Simple Green, 409, bleach, etc. Please do not use an acid base cleaner such as MaryKate's Hull Cleaner."

I use glass cleaner and a towel

I would use a diluted solution of 30-50% simple green and water in a bucket with a soft brush. It will be more than enough. And you won't have such a strong pine smell afterwards, or worry about dark green solvent on your vinyl.

I go old school asian and use hot water, soap and a hard bristle brush...get on my hands and knees and scrub. It doesn't take very long at all and it feels soft and new after.

Thanks guys! I've scrubbed it before with a hard brush and soapy water but it didn't quite get the stains out, I'm fighting Georgia red clay down here. I'll try diluted Simple Green.

LOL, sorry it's my stupid sense of humor. I did mean what you read. But don't worry I know a few old school asians so it's ok. (that would be my mom, my dad and even myself ) Seriously though, I am a Vietnamese guy who was born in Vietnam but came to Canada as part of the boat people after the war and spent my childhood working with my parents as janitors. Didn't mean to offend anyone, especially myself...

I use diluted vinyl cleaner. Use same towel used to clean seats after I clean interior. Works very well. We have some red clay and has got it off pretty easily

Dollar Store: Totally Awesome and a stiff brush. I also use it on my vinyl occasionally followed immediatly by 303 Aerospace Protect ant.
