With lake season pretty much ending soon im getting ready to put the nautuque up. Over the break I want to overhaul the engine and I would also like to beef it up a bit. Im looking more for sound than speed being that its usually rough waters on ray hubbard... any suggestions on a cam/exhaust set up?

You'd probably want to ask this on Correctcraftfan.com. Is it a carbureted motor? or a GT 40 fuel injected? If its a gt-40 you cant to much above stock set up.Zach@n3boatworks.com

Then you are golden. Fyi engine build isn't going to make any difference in noise unless you remove the muffler. There is a really good cam spec coupled with GT-40P heads and a good intake will net you 320-340 hp out of that 351. Plan to do that in the next 2-3 years on my boat as the floor and interior(again) need attention first to make it functional.Zach@n3boatworks.com

What boat do u have? Imine is a 95 ski nautique. I had the steering cable replaced this summer and ever since then it seems like the boat doesnt whip around like it used to. Is there any kind of adjustments that couldve been changed when the cable was replaced?
