Thank you Nautique for saving our vacation

We purchased a new 230 this year. We had taken it out twice with no issues prior to towing it 450 miles to Norris Lake, for our much anticipated vacation. Much to our surprise, on the second day we started getting error codes whenever we started the boat, I called the dealer we purchased it from and found out that the codes were for the throtle position sensor, and they said it was fifty fifty that it would make it through the week. We called arround and it was almost a two hour drive to the closest dealer and they could not guarentee we would have the boat back during our vacation. On Wednesday we all loaded into the boat to head out to surf and wake board, and the boat went into limp mode. I was upset to say the least, my wife decided to call the factory and see what they could do. Within a few hours of her talking with Nautique, PCM was shipping the sensor to us for next day delivery. The part arrived the next morning, 20 minutes to istall and we were back on the lake, without another issue.

RIGHT ON! Way to go Nautique. Makes me feel so good knowing they do care about their customers. Very impressed.

I had a problem with my engine early on and they overnighted the new seals I needed. It turned out I didn't need the seals, but still amazing service.

Love to hear stories like that!! I also like to see where other local SN, MC owners take their boats. Since your from Orrville, where do you usually boat at?

that's a great story, except.... your dealer knew exactly what was wrong with a brand new boat based on a code. From experience? This happens frequently enough to be a no-brainer diagnosis?

(had a very similar issue on my pcm-equipped boat at about 15 hours)

I totally believe that is the type of service that you only receive from a company like Nautique! I have friends with MC and Bu and it sure doesn't seem like you hear those same stories. Yeah some dealers may bend over backwards for you but does the actual company do the things Nautique will do for its customers? I wonder how likely you could get through to someone at BU or MC and have them overnight something to you?

Does nautique keep a full stock of PCM parts on hand? With my similar issue PCM also overnighted the part to my dealer.

since it was brand new and in production I assume they went to the line and pulled one.

DoubleD - We usually go to Salt Fork, but we have started to go to West Branch also. Where do you typically go?

Hondaprlud - I tried to work a deal with Buckeye but they were not moving much off MSRP, and then we found a great deal on this boat at a dealer in NY State, so we made the trip up there. My previous Nautique was from Vandervere, and they always provided us great service, I was sorry to see them go.

I never bought a boat while Vandever was open. Bought my 96 from Ron right before he retired. Glad to hear you got the deal you wanted.

I'm usually on West Branch too.

We, my brother an I, go mainly to Berlin which is Southwest of Westbranch. When the water drops too low or we do family day, we go to Salt Fork. For dinner cruises we hit Portage Lakes.

My brother has the Nautique (2004 Ski Nautique 206 Limited) but SN is what I started on and would own one if I didn't own my MC. So we switch back and forth each time out.
