Ryan, what is Nettles? Do you think going to a 14.25 pitch is to much? You think i would lose to much hole shot and that's why you are suggesting 13.

Well Iron has a 14.25" pitch on his 550 and is looking for for hole shot. The 12" pitch .105cup was too aggressive, cavitates at 25 mph... Next logical step would be a 13" pitch .150cup or so.

The difference between me and him is probably 3500 feet of elevation! The boat came with th 1235 which 14.50 x 14.25 with .105 cup and that prop spun or cavitated.Originally posted by nyryan2001 View PostWell Iron has a 14.25" pitch on his 550 and is looking for for hole shot. The 2249 is the next step for a 550hp G23. It is 15x14.25 with a 0.105 cup vs the 2247 having 15x14.25 with 0.150 cup. If my memory is correct the reduction in cup is suppose to behave like a 0.5" drop in pitch so the 2249 should be a decent improvement over a 2247 for a 550hp engine.Originally posted by nyryan2001 View PostWell Iron has a 14.25" pitch on his 550 and is looking for for hole shot.
