    pinstripe/letter/interior color- 99 Sport

I just bought a 1999 Sport last month (boat was previously owned by at least one user here). The interesting thing about the color combo on this boat is that the interior is White\Black\Grey, while the hull is White\Black with Gold letters and pinstripes. Do you guys think this boat was "re-decaled" with gold? I like the way it looks, and probably would not change it, but I am curious if this is how it came from the factory... or if it originally had the silver or grey letters and pinstripes.

Nice looking boat! It could have been ordered with either the gold or silver pinstripes and lettering regardless of the chosen interior colors. The only way to know for sure is to get in touch with the factory for the original build sheet or get confirmation from one of the previous owners. If you decide you wanted to switch to silver pinstripes and lettering you can get both of those from Nautiqueparts.com. My boat is the same color as yours except the top strip is tan and I have the gold lettering as well. I had originally planned to switch it to silver but the gold really grew on me over the last summer. It looks awesome when the sun hits it right but I am sure the silver would look great too.

You could order them however you wanted from the factory however most in that type of scheme probably had silver letters. I prefer silver myself.

Are you towing with a Ford Escape? That must struggle a bit!

Yes, but only from storage to the ramp (1 mile on backroads - under 45mph) - It it not the optimal tow vehicle, but I just keep it slow...... When I need to go farther or on hwy I borrow an F250 from a family member.

Nice looking boat.. I've always loved those sports like you have. They have a good classy look to them. If it wasn't for wanting a V-Drive I would have one just like what you have...... If you're in the mind to change the outer decaling to match the color scheme of the interior which I think would look good. I went to my local graphic shop in Durham, NC and had them pinstripe mine in Chrome... Now that does sparkle when the sun hits it on the water. He took my old off and installed the new for I think $50 bucks...

Cool idea with the chrome pinstripe G. Got any pics? Seems like you got a great deal too, $50 will barely buy the OEM stuff never mind the installation. I am sure installation is pretty easy for a pro but I'm not sure I have a steady enough hand to try it myself.

Tom, did you keep the Silver Nautique listed in your signature? Those are awesome boats and I'd love to have one some day.

Thanks, Yeah, I think it gives it alittle pop of shine. The price was resonable but it was about 5 yrs. ago, so I'm sure it has went up since then,,,,, I guess like everything else.... : ) I feel the same it seemed like it would be easy to do and he had it all done in about 30 min. but I knew I better not give it a try, I would be all day........Here's a few pics, they are old, but this is all I had at work... Pay no attention the the Air Nautique decal that has been replaced twice, the most resent was last month....

Yes, still have the Silver - it is a bit rough (gel is blistered below waterline and probably needs stringers) but it is a cool and fun boat! Click image for larger version

It was not re-striped, I purchased it from the original owner and sold it last year about this time. The gold adds "Bling", I thought it was sort of ghetto at first but it grew on me after a while. Our current boat is very boring and has no bling, and we sort of miss the sparkle...

I did change the transom decal to what it currently has now. My ski buddies kept giving me a hard time about the wakeboard championship decal.

The gold is growing on me as well- I think I am less likely to change it with every passing day. And as a skier that went with the sport because of the wakeboarding wife and growing family I like the transom decal from a SN!

It's funny how certain design details, like the gold "bling," can really grow on you over time! Sometimes, it's little things that set a boat apart. It appears that you struck a decent balance when it came to the transom decal, which adds some unique flair.
