Height on trailer can't be right

I'd like to question this:

Jeff Carroll: The G23 is a tall boat. What's the height with the tower folded down on a standard trailer? How much do I need to extend my door height to fit it in my garage?

Greg Meloon: Several trailer manufacturers are currently designing trailers for the G23. It would be safe to say that a 9 foot plus garage door height will be required but this will depend on the trailer you choose.

If you look at the attached picture, i just can't believe the height of the windshield is 9 feet. You can see the way the tower is constructed that wont' be the limiting factor when folded down. I measured by trailer tire and it's 26.5". You figure three trailer tires 6' 6", and then maybe you add another 6". It appears in the photo with the tower folded down it would easily fit in a 8' garage. Am I missing something?

Jeff, any chance they mention how the ballast system was divided, rear port ,starboard, belly etc. by pounds, also when you were in the boat riding , were they using the extra 1900 pounds? and if so where did they have it placed. thanks.

Here's my much more scientific assessment of the height of the windsheild on trailer. If you figure each tire is 27" tall (mine are 26.5"). Multiply that by 3.5 tires and you have this beast fitting into an 8 foot garage. I just think the 9 foot garage statement on the interview is incorrect. See pic.

It would appear in the picture that the driveway is slanted. On a flat surface the windshield would be over 8'. Could just be the camera angle though.

Aaron. I think you have it the other way around. The driveway slopes down as you go to the stern. With that in mind, the height from ground to windshield would take up even less tires, and therefore would very likely be less than 8 feet. From the look of this pic it seems to be about 3.25 tires or 7'4" with 27" tires.

This is a huge deal killer for me on the G23 unfortunately. Is there any way to have someone measure the height of the windsheild when the G23 is on the trailer. From that pic it certainly looks well under 8' to the windsheild. I suppose the only real variable would be if they were using 30" tires in that pic for example.

Height is going to depend on who the trailer builder is. That boat happens to sit on a Ram-Lin.
