This was Sunday morning. Air 30, water 60. JP comes thru the wake a little flat and bounces more for it, even so he can link several aggesive turns together since he stays centered on his ski fairly well. Again, you wouldn't want to run the course with it, but for free skiing most i/o's I skied behind are worse.

It sounds like you need a 200 Sport:-)

For the price of a 200 sport, you could probably get a 196 and a classic Super Air.

Exactly...that is "my" plan over the long haul. Right now, my 206 gets it done for what I need.

And then you only have double the insurance, double the taxes, double the maintenance, double the storage/marina. For some that's fine, maybe not for others. The purchase cost is the smallest part of boat ownership.

FWIW, my limited experience behind a friends 210 is that slalom can be done, however, compared to our 211 it will beat you up and wear you out much faster, at least for us older folk, and most of us had to straighten up to cross the wake which is kind of a pain. If you have an addiction a 210 will do though.

I have decided to buy the 2012 model 200V for the next summer. What do you think about the boat guys? wakeboarding, hardcore skiing, tubing, barefooting, wakeskating and wakesurfing

We demoed a 200 sport this summer, In one afternoon I ran slalom, then my wife wakeboarded, then the kids surfed it, then my buddy took a barefoot run. It did everything very well and was certainly adequate for our ability level at any of those events. We were absolutely sold, our new 200 sport was delivered to the dealer yesterday. After reading all your questions the last 2 days I'm a little surprised you've actually picked out your boat but still haven't taken anyone's advice to go test drive and ski all the boats you mentioned. You're not dropping chump change so you need to be a little more diligent with your research. In the end I think you'll come back to the 200 sport but you need to do go see your dealer that's what he's there for.

Congrats! Either way you have selected a Nautique and I don't think you can go wrong with that IMO.

I've slalomed several times behind the new 200V Sport. Surprisingly good slalom wake. Best V drive wake on the market bar none.
Hull rides very high in the water - when you're in the boat, the turns feel really unusual, since it turns flat without much camber.

                        You'll be happy with it.

This pic should give you a good idea of the 210 wake, no ballast 4 people in the boat

I have an 07 220, which probably has a comparable slalom wake. We do it, it's big, but it is not impossible. The more people you can put forward the rounder the wake gets which is nice. I had a 196 before this and could run 28 off. Behind the 220 I ran 15off @ 30mph and my knees and hips hurt for a week from slamming into the wake. Also, I bought a softer, wider HO ski (charger) and that helps a lot. Trying to slalom with a huge wake on a stiff carbon ski gave me the same tingly feeling in my ankles as when I jumped off the top of a playground as a kid. The short answer is that it is ok for a free ski ride but not really that much fun ... enough to take a few rides a year.

I am planning to buy the sport 200. I know that the ski wake is good but I am not sure about the wakeboard and wakesurf wake. What do you think about it.
