Ski Nautique 200 -- Mapple Icon Edition

Got a chance to check out the Mapple 200 yesterday. They're only making 14 of them. If you want one, you better get it ordered now. These will go fast.

Nice boat, is the cf actually a structural layer on the side of the boat, or is it just a sticker like the trim on the glove box? No offense meant to CC, but CF "stickers" is not the right way to go. Do the full glove box lid in cf, or leave the cheap trim off.

I'm getting ready to say CC has jumped the shark on this one. Wouldn't a hardcore ski icon boat that uses exotic materials and less flashy trim trying to REDUCE weight make more sense? (of course it is possible CC did reduce weight with the addition of carbon fiber where fiberglass was, but Im going to guess they didn't) Skiers aren't wakeboarders, and in my eyes high level skiers still prefer function over form.

The carbon fiber is NOT a sticker. It is in the side of the boat, with clear gelcoat on top. Same with the glove box lid.

Thats a relief. So the whole glove box lid is CF? And the CF on the side of the boat, was that used in place of the typical fiberglass mats? Does this thing weigh less than a similar 200?

Sorry for all the questions, but its hard to find anyone that knows anything about the 2012 stuff.

Are they all closed bows? The window in the motor box is very cool! So this version is about a grand more than regular 200;-)

Mapple and Bylery boats look great but I don't want someone elses graffiti on my boat. What will they think of next...maybe initials on button downs, stationary or bath towels? Pimp my ride.

That is a nice looking boat! I didn't think that there was a way that they out-do the standard 200, but they have done it....for more $$ of course!

Isn't that the great thing about freedom of choice my friend..........you don't have to buy it. IMHO it pegs a 9.5 on the cool factor gauge, and it's just as practical as any other unblinged 200. Can't say the same for Malibu's Corvette Sport V boat. At what?.....60-70K?! Cool boat btw! You look cool driving it, but that's all you can do, drive it.

If they really wanted to reduce the weight, design it as a closed bow boat to begin with. Built a no compromise, closed bow boat. Maybe even a boat that did not need a 6.0 liter, to go faster than about 43 MPH.

These "Icon" boats are designed to look flashy on a showroom floor. This is what I would expect from a "M" boat company. Not from Correct Craft.

I feel making special Icon Edition boats is a way CC is saying thank you , because they feel somewhere some how that Icon has added to the bottom line.

You guys are all pretty lame dissing CC for changing from the same old stuff...They're only making 12 of them. It's not like they are replacing the whole fleet with AM's boat. Like it was stated...don't buy it if you don't like it!

Agreed, couldn't do anything with this boat other than stare at it in my garage...but if I had the cash to blow it'd be fun

My applause to CC for something new, something different. Chevy was stupid for making #8 junior cars too weren't they? That boat is sweet lookin! Thanks for sharing Jeff.

It is basically like buying a Ferrari or a Mclaren. They look cool and you want it... but you dont want to use it because it is special. The people that buy these boats are not lame. There are only like 12 being made. The people who buy these special icon boats are like the people who buy these very rare sports cars. They are like showroom pieces.

mdvalant is right. If you dont want it, dont buy it. Its not like they are replacing the whole fleet with them. They are just a special one of a kind nautique.
