New FCT3 for my 200 OB (crazy price)

    Hey all,

I'm about to order a new FCT3 for my 2010 Ski 200 OB. I got a price from a local dealer (only one around) and I really like these guys but wow, the price for these items is unbelievable (although they are probable perfect).

A new FCT3 in black is $6500, speaker system is $1800, AMP $400, and bimini (I believe a Z5) is $1600 for a grand total of $10300.00 (plus install)

So I'm asking, does this sound even close? I just got my boat this past winter but I'm wondering if I should already trade it in for a Sport/Crossover or SA. $10K sounds like a lot for these items when the 200 Sport is about the same price as my Ski OB and the MSRP on these boats are just about the same.

    Comments please?

    Thanks!

I'd say the price for the Z5 sounds great. As for the rest, check with White Lake Marine, and use the PlanetNautique discount. They may be able to do better than those prices.

And before I'd go switching boats, make sure it's what you want. You got a direct drive for a reason. If the only reason to get a Sport is to get the tower, you'd sacrifice the reasons to have the DD to begin with. Yes it's a chunk of change to upgrade yours, but when you go to sell it might be a blessing to have the tower on it.

The dealer cost for my Z-5 was $2,800, so that's most likely the factory bimini

Sounds like the tower is about a grand high(maybe thats an installed price) but the z5 lists for $3400 so beware on that one.

Putting a tower on a 200 ski is just WRONG.

i would trade it. if you have a decent relationship w your dealer, i am sure they would break their neck trying to get you into boat. the loss you are going to take on trade is going to be offset by the $10k for the tower, and then you are still left with a year old boat.

The cost of that tower should be with install. You may like these guys but they are taking you for a ride and your wallet is paying for it.

The FT-5 tower on the 200 just does not look right. It sits too far back and the bimini will be WAY over your head and provide very little protection and when it comes to resell you will get very little of your money back out of it. If you are only looking for pleasure I would sell the 200 and buy the sport or SA. The wake on the sport is close(not the same but close) to the ski 200. In terms of pleasure the sport is far superior and look good with the new 2 point FT-5 towers.

I have had Diamondback design a 4 point tower for the 200 b/c I like the look of the tower over the windshield and Im old school when it comes to the tower. If I decide to buy it for reasons other than wakeboarding (intergrated bimini and tower speakers only b/c I only slalom). I know that I will be throwing my money away because I will not get the cost of the tower back out of the boat. It may sell easier but it will not sell for much more. something to consider.

I would trade the boat before spending that much in accessories. If you do decide to add everything I'll sell you the speakers off my 2012 that hasn't even arrived yet for $1500.

Sounds like you want/ need the new sport nautique instead of the 2oo OB.
