Has anyone had an issue with the Sano grip rubbing off? I bought a 2007 SV211 and was sitting on the Sano grip on the transom and it rubbed off turning my orange shorts black. Didn't come out in the wash, either. I haven't noticed it peeling or cracking, but it is hard as a rock, that's for sure. Would like to replace with seadek or nau teak if available.

I second the Sea Deck option. I don't think I would buy a boat with Sano on it, unless it was a great deal, so I could immediately replace it with Sea Deck... Don't wait till it cracks/peels then someone gets sliced by it. It tends to produce razor sharp edges...

Sea Dek kits are availiable for the large 7 piece platform. I hate sano but the black seems to hold up better than the grey. The kits are also availiable for the 196 platform.Zach@n3boatworks.com

For those of you guys who are trying to get by and make the most of your Sano Pad material, I've had good luck by putting 303 on it like its going out of style. My boat is a 2008 and I have not had any issues with peeling or cracking. Its a pain, but if you can keep it soaked up with 303, it makes it somewhat tolerable to have on your boat. Still can't wait to have a boat with the Sea Deck though.....that stuff is really nice.

What is the process for removing the sano? Anyone have any experience with it that they could share? And I saw that I can get the seadek for my platform, but I am not seeing a kit for the transom sano. Would like to replace all of it with a kit (as opposed to cutting it out of a sheet on my own where it might be a little less than perfect). I have an '07 211. Again, though, I am very curious as to how I am going to get the sano off without harming the fiberglass/gelcoat.

Still curious about a template for the transom sano pieces, though...
