Eh, I used to have a '99 Cobalt 190 and the new '11 Cobalt 200 looks almost exactly like my old 190. I'd say they just updated their interior slightly.
A lot of boat interiors look similar, doesn't necessarily mean they copied each other. There are only so many ways to layout a boat interior.2005 SANTE

Yeah it looks like they're trying to break into the wakeboarding market by trying to convince people an I/O is better for watersports. I used to wakeboard behind my Cobalt and there is no comparison to my SANTE.Originally posted by swc5150 View PostLooking at Cobalt's website, they sure seem to be taking on the inboard market. They are really nice boats - for I/O runabouts.
Yes Cobalts are very nice runabouts. For watersports, no thanks.2005 SANTE

Your '99 Cobalt 190 had a walk-thru transom with steps at the port rear, a separate starboard storage compartment in the rear and a lift-up observer's front seat with access to the port front storage compartment? Kudos to Cobalt for their progressive design thinking in the 1990's. I knew Cobalt was one of the first (the first?) boat builders to use a walk-thru transom but I didn't realize they did it with their smallest '99 model. Cobalt makes great I/O boats, not doubt about it.Originally posted by shonuff View PostEh, I used to have a '99 Cobalt 190 and the new '11 Cobalt 200 looks almost exactly like my old 190. The '99 206 had walk thru transom and a rear port side storage compartment. The walk thru portion was on the starboard side. The 190 had wrap around seating and the whole side bench would flip up for storage/ice chest. It did not connect to the bow storage area though. Comparing the old 190 and 206 interior to the new 200 is strikingly similar, it looks like a blend between the 190 and 206. Just natural progression IMO.2005 SANTE
