True... The Crest is much cleaner.
This is not a tower to love at first sight. I'm sure it's rigid and clean, but it looks like a swing or something...
Not a new 2011 230 for me.

I don't know all the pro's of the FCT3 and FCT5 towers. I know they are more rigid then our FCT1 tower, but the sight is much WORSE in my opinion. Why? The mirror is not as good placed (windscreen) as on a FCT1-2 and the tower legs in the back are blocking the view to the boarder (on a 210 FCT3 I drove). I really find this anoying. I don't mind the small tower legs in front of me on a FCT1, FCT2 (never drove a FCT4), but I hate the big legs of the FCT3.

Come on Nautique. Give a FCT1 option with a good tower setup (speakers, lights), with a working Perfect Pass system (paddle wheel Zero Off) in the Linc system, some clean graphics, a stereo standard working with Iphone and you have sold another brand new Nautique.

All I can say is that when the FCT3 first came out I was not impressed.............. Now I own one!

It is the look and integration with the Z5 that completes it for me on the FCT3. Maybe if we saw the new tower with a Z5 rack it would help.

Malibu came up with a new tower last year, lots of people hated it, now no big deal.

Having said all that, today I'm glad I just got my boat with the tower it has and would not have bought or ordered one with the new one.

why so far back?

I like the new FCT5, but why mount it so far back? It seems like they are mounting it at last 8-10" behind the windshield. The only thin I can think of is they want it to fold inside the boat. It just woudl look much better mounted closer to the windshield in my opinion.

Just talked to a Nautique Rep and he said they are in the process of allowing the fct3 on the 2011. They would be special orders and they would require a deposit before the build.
