    Hi guys,

Either love it or like it. Our 210 now 2 weeks away.

I am big fan of fct3 but was never a viable option.

For those who are looks based sure fct3 cool design. If you cant fit the boat in the garage the fct5 is a compromise. Probably would be fair to say they should have kept fct3 and fct5 as both options.

That way everyone would be happy and those of us that need it to fold low get a tower that looks similar to fct3.

To say you wouldnt buy a new boat because of the tower is going a bit far. From what I have seen of new towers of other manufactuers, the fct5 probably still the best.

Any more pictures out there yet. Doesnt help proably the colours we have seen are bit out there depending on your tastes

You should have the option of the original 4 base tower & the FCT 5 two base tower...

If I were ordering a 2011 210 - i would find a way to get the Byerly tower on my 210.....

I like that you can't even go to the Nautique website and build/look at a 2011 boat yet. You would think they would update the site so we could see all the new changes/options or the upcoming model year, especially since they are already building boats with these changes. Is this asking too much?

i will be the first to admit that i detest towers that have two mounting points aft of the windshield with very long footprints on each side. i think their negatives completely outweigh their positives. the FCT3 looks like a crinkle cut french fry. that being said, the FCT5 was growing on me (from an aesthetic standpoint only)...until i saw this picture on a 230.

            ---its low
---the board racks are sooooo far back that when you swivel them in you will be almost certainly be pinned by the the sundeck and/or cushions
---it impedes ingress/egress from the side of the boat
---it impedes sociability from the side when tied up next to boats
---it creates huge blind spots aft
---it eats up arm rest space on the gunnels

that is simply horrible looking. I hope that it is an option tower and not the only tower available. I still have not purchased my boat yet and was waiting for the economy to pick up.

It doesn't look like there is any other choice of towers on some CC models.

good point about the byerly edition, will be interested to see if it changes ... if it stays the same then they obviously will still be producing another tower, no reason you shouldnt be able to option it

Just a few thoughts from some of the observations from this picture.

the tower seems low in this pic, however, if you look closer to the guy standing up, he is standing on the back seat that is reversable and the back also lays down with non slip on the back, he is clearly standing on that, look where is knees are in comparison to the deck.

also, just fyi...I have a FCT 4 and you could claim all the same issues as the above. I had it right next to a 2011 210 when I went in for service. so same issue with the racks, line of sight etc...... Actully the FCT 5 provides a much clearer line of sight from the driver's seat.

finally, my FCT 4 is a bear to fold down with one person as well as it rests on the interior, which i had to rig up a special hoist in my garage as I did not want the tower and racks resting on the interior. from a pure function perspective, i like the FCT 5, and as we all love/hate it, the industry is moving toward a 2 point tower mount and away from the 4 point of yester year.

just my opinion. also i did not care for the FCT 3 when I ordered mine, hence the FCT 4...now i kinda wished i had the FCT 3. hind sight is 20/20. again, everyone is different and has their own likes and dislikes. I think the resounding thing that comes to my mind on all of these issues is you still can't beat a Nautique either way you look at it.

i agree but he could be a short guy LOL look at the dude sitting. He is half the size of the rack. LOL JK though... im sure some will love it, but it just looks way to back (like the old scarab boats with that wing)

Next question, where is the platform

I disagree that he is standing on the jump seat. If he was standing on the jump seat, he would be even taller. It looks like he is kneeling on a bag or something that's sitting on the seat.

Word on the street is that the factory non-z5 bimini also utilizes the same mounting points as the z5. I don't know if an over the top bimini is being offered.

I should be able to play with the new tower sometime this week on a 2011 210 and 230. I hope that, in person, I'm impressed. I hope that the wetsounds stuff fits and looks right. I just absolutely love the setup I have now.
