hello. new to the forum and also new to ski nautiques. i always liked them but never even rode in one. just purchased an 05 196 in great condition inside and out. took it out first time the other day and when you engage the throttle and boat goes into "gear" the sound is rather different than i expected. can you hear the tranny's on these boats? everthing is smooth as can be. it is just a different noise. i can not compare to any other boats, we have always owned outboards. as soon as you give it any more throttle the engine noise takes over. i never thought a boat could be some much fun just to drive. wow.

Ha. I wondered the same thing when I first put my nautique in. I also was new to nautiques and inboards in general. My buddies thought it sounded like a 330 hp blender. And yeah, there is nothing more fun to drive not to mention the amazing slalom wake.

that makes me feel better. would not think it could have a tranny problem with 300 hours and two tranny fluid changes done. anybody using amsoil? what makes the weird noise. is it the prop in the water, or the tranny.2016 G23

I think its the cut of the gears that make the noise, especially in reverse.2005 Ski Nautique 206 SE, Acme 422, PP SG 8.0, ND Tower
