bski, where were these pictures taken? The place looks awesome!
Trinity Lake in Northern California - We houseboat there every year. Only lake I know of in California with consistent glass, no crowds, and is not in the desert (although none of the lakes and rivers in the desert I know of offer either). To get there you have to drive past Shasta and past Whiskeytown lakes, so most of the locals don’t us it, and most house boaters have never heard of it so they go to Shasta. It’s a long drive from where we are in Southern California, about 500 miles one way, but it’s worth it!!!
That's where I go too. I've been stuck there twice in fog like smoke though because of fires :evil: The last one sucked big time. You couldn't even see across the lake and everyday you would come out to your boat and have ashes all over it.

We’ve only experienced the smoke one time, which was June of 2008 – real bad for three days.
