Easiest thing to do is go to the zero off website and download the PDF user manuel. It has directions on how to update and how to go into diagnostics screen to check software. But really it's not a user update process prob best left to a dealer.

Thanks the quick reply is there a reference thread that you can point me to on how to check the software version I have as well as how to update if needed?

Surging is the bow bouncing up and down when locked on at your set speed when zero off is engaged. This is called porpoising and can usually be controlled by moving the hydro gate forward or turning. Happens more in choppy rolly water and when u run more stern ballast than nose. And u have the old style antenna. Try the software update first a lot of people have success with that.

The old style antenna is a round puck...if yours is round like a hockey puck, it's original

Since I am a recent purchaser of an 08 210 SANTE how would I know what antenna I have?? Mine is mounted/ located just beyond the driver window on the flat area near the mooring cleat. When talking about surging I dont' think that it surges with stock ballast but I can tell that it seems like that there is a subtle miss in the engine exhaust tone. Please describe the surge that everyone is talking about.
Thanks.

Unless things have changed, you need a Diacomm cable to upgrade...or ZeroOff will do it (at least they used to) if you send the unit to them. Most dealers have the right cable--but some (like my old dealer) don't. If you have to buy it, I believe it's +/- $250. I had CC West upgrade mine several years ago and it only took a few minutes.

How do you upgrade the firmware on the Zero Off is there a USB connection on the back of the unit or something > ? Looking on the site it does allow you to download the software or at least request the latest S/W.
I rather try and upgrade the firmware first and see if it fixes the problem. We went last weekend and had about 3000 pounds in the boat and were Surfing and it was really bad.
How long did it take i would assume it pretty easy.

Did you do this yourself? What software part number are you showing now? You need to go into diagnostics section to see. I have the E1886200A software and yes it was a big improvement when running stock ballast and 1579 prop but with added ballast and larger prop you will still have issues.Originally posted by scottb7 View PostI decided to try upgrading zero off software and skip the antenna. I cannot get Zero Off to respond to my email. As a matter of fact email addressed to ericf@zerogps.com is returned "not deliverable". Is the address above in Waterford, MI, where headunits are sent to be updated for the R2 antenna?

Right around 22mph. Do you still have a name and phone number? If so could you PM me with it?

I had a question on a newer head unit and the software, and ZO was pretty responsive. I think I sent them an email from their site first, then got an email to call somebody to discuss it. He checked on it and got back to me in a few days.
Also, what speed are you riding?
