"i'd be ****ed if my boat, esp. still under warranty arrived with a huge performance defect and i had to pay to make it work the way it is advertised and supposed to work."

I have a 2009 210 that could use the upgrade but no way I am paying for it. I think it's very poor on Correct Craft's part to make the customer pay to fix this problem as well. It's probably more Zero Off's fault than CC. I'm sure if they would warranty the parts CC would cover the labor.

I agree with you guys especailly what Aaron has said. I think it is more on Zero-Off and I do think it should be fixed with no cost to the customer.

If another part failed it would be covered so why not this issue?

So is there any thing anybody can do besides complain on the forum? I'm in the same boat with the rest of you guys, I'd like my system fixed too...

why not file a class action suit? it's obviously a zero off issue and that is proven if software upgrade and antenna fixes the problem. it's beyond insulting to expect someone to spend vast amounts of money on a new boat(keeping the companies in business during the economic downturn) and then expect them to put up with this kind of stuff.

My experience is that class action lawsuits rarely provide much benefit for those actually affected. You end up getting pennies on the dollar and the lawyers make the real money. Unless the expectations are to "teach a lesson" to the manufacturer, it isn't worth the effort.

Brad Gearhart is cc's team coordinator at the ripe age of 26. and to quote him, "I drop each boat into our lake and perform detailed wake evaluations and double-check all speed control and sound systems are at full potential." granted that is probably just for team riders' boats, but there's no way they did that and ya'll are having these problems. havn't talked to my buddy since last weekend but he got his boat new from orlando nautiques so i guess they are the ones who took care of him?

Anyone else try just the software upgrade without replacing the antenna? Eric from Zero Off sent the software to my dealer who uploaded to my boat at no cost. No more porpoising!

Bevan, I am looking to do that in the next week that way no cost. I hope that fixes it on my boat as well.

I finally got my boat out for the first time this weekend. I did the antenna and software upgrade. I was running around 2400 lbs of ballast and everything was great, except for the fact that the boat would surge for a second when driving double ups. When I would hit the first roller, the boat would make a quick surge, which isn't a great feeling when you are the rider hitting a double up behind a 210 with 2400 lbs of weight in it. Anyone else had this problem?

I had my sytem upgraded with the software last year and it still porpoises. I just deal with it like the rest of you and use the hydrogate to smooth it back out. I wonder if the upgrade this year is any different and if it will help as Bevan says it did on his? I wish I had perfect pass instead of zero off.

Latonka and JWAT....have you tried rebalancing so you have a bit more weight bias toward the front as compared with your current setup?

With the new software/antenna, my boat occasionally porpoises...but then it self-corrects after +/-4 oscillations. It doesn't happen very often--probably once per set (at the most). Before the upgrade, the porpoising was more frequent and would just get worse until I lowered the hydrogate. It's still irritating, but I think it has to do with my rear-heavy weight bias because I get porpoising with full ballast and without ZO engaged (but I've only noticed that at higher speeds--27-32 mph--while running back to the ramp. I haven't played around at riding-speeds...typically 22.5-23.5 for my riders).

Unfortunately, I'm often pressed for time when we ride (...in the mornings before work...), so taking 15-30 minutes to play with ballast/speed/porpoising is a big deal--one of these days I'll take the time.

                        FWIW, I run about 1800lbs...

even if it is a z.o. problem it is now cc's problem. i find it hard to believe they thoroughly tested this system in the water and then allowed it to slip through to the customer. and then charge the customer for their mistake. to me it is down right "un christian like." i thought cc would stand by their customers more

I have tried putting more weight in the front but I don't liker how it changes the shape of the wake when I weigh it down more in the front.

Yeah, I agree, too re: shape...I played with weight distribution when I first got the boat (old antenna/software) and I like how I have it currently (...biased toward the rear...). Just curious if moving some weight toward the front helps with the porpoising. The point is moot if it changes the shape of the wake much. One of these days I'll play with it some more. Could be shifting 10% of the weight from the back to the front will help w/porpoising w/o hurting the wake substantially.
