Those of you with snap covers...

How does it look? Do you regret it? Could you post pictures? I've got a cover that came with with our new boat purchase but it's a total pain the @$$. Fortunately our boat is completely enclosed in a full boat dock, but considering a snap cover for ease of use.

If you must use snaps, install them on the bottom of the rub rail. Minimize the visual side effects....
Only do it if you can wrap your cover over the rail without it rubbing on the dock,bumpers, etc or it will get beat up quick

I don't have any pics but mine is like INvno1 says. If you go snaps put them up thru the rub rail. Both my nautiques had this type of cover and it is great. I trailer mine all the time with it on no issues.

when i bought my boat, I told the dealer that fi they installed a single snap, the deal was off.

Funny - I've told all my auto dealers. If there is an "acme" dealer plaque or evidence of one being scraped off, the truck doesn't leave the lot with me driving it.

Amazing how "detail oriented" they then become. I'm he11 on salesmen.

I have snaps and love them. The cover stays put at highway speeds and I tend to drive fast. Make sure they are on the bottom of the rub rail. Maybe I can get a pic.

with all of the good snapless designs out now - why bother? I've owned 2 nautiques and 3 covers - never had snaps, never felt like I needed them. Nothing beats the Rankin system in my mind.

Well, the cover that came standard with the boat is a total pain and is huge. Even though our boat dock is fully enclosed, without a cover, the boat still gets dust and bugs still want to make homes in various crevices of the boat. Regardless, just considering a snap cover for the simplicity factor. Just considering what aesthetic value I may lose if I do it.

I loved the cover on my last 230. I will get this type of cover on all of my boats from now on. I loved the two-piece design.

Hi NautiqueJeff,

That's a stunning looking outfit.

I have recently bought an SV-211 and have been considering buying similar snap-on bow and cockpit covers. I am a convert from stern-drive sports boats and have been used to the ease and convenience of these covers for both mooring and transportation. I am wondering whether to get a convertible top too, as the bimini cover might be fine in Florida but does little to keep out the UK's wind and rain!

Your boat appears similar in that there is not much fall between the windscreen and the back of the sunpad / engine cover. I take it that the cockpit cover utilises a similar pole arrangement as the bow cover to help water run off but is this adequate or does rainwater still pool in the centre of the cover?

Thats a good idea if you store your boat in a garage or covered lift. If you store it outside the sun will eventually make a fade line around where the cover is.

Snap or Drawstring covers really make no difference, just as long as they function correctly. That being said..... I don't see how a drawstring cover could last as long as a properly fitted snap cover, especially when left outside most of the time.

I never trailer with my cover on......its tight but it still rubs the gel.

The best thing you can do is get a covered boat lift and leave the cover off so the boat breathes and dries out.

I never really had any issue with water pooling on the cover. It did have one pole in the back and one under the bow cover.

Are there now original factory covers or the dealers have their own cover suppliers?
