Kevfran, is that allatoona? I love the red and black, sharp!

BTW, I don't believe anything you say about the wake. Only picture evidence can prove otherwise or you can name the time and place (if that is allatoona) lol!

How is the water depth at that section of river? That's always been my concern that far south.
Water level is a big concern this far south particularly for V-Drives. Generally speaking the water ranges from 6 feet to 30 feet. However, Sandbars and shallow areas are numerous and slowing moving, changing shape. Once you know the river it's not a problem but for those who aren't familiar with the area it's best to ride with others first to learn your way around.

Thanks Tyler. That's what I've heard over the years. I grew up going just south of Parker where the water level was sketchy and there weren't sandbars, but rock-bars. We really had to know the river.

I have friends who go to different areas around Blythe and they tell me the same thing you said...learn the river from people who go there before heading out full steam on your own.

Are you guys in the Blythe area or closer to Yuma?

Wow, those conditions in gramps pics look great. I was in Blythe over the weekend and wind was blowing up-river all day..unridable. Sunday was much better. We are 15 miles north of the 10 on hwy 95.

                BKinSoCal,

We are just above Yuma in a Community known as Hidden Shores which is right above Imperial Dam. Believe it or not there aren't any dams that I know of south of one at Blue Water/South end of the Parker strip all the way till you get to Imperial. Now that would be a trip to try! I'm sure there are obstacles but I know kayaks launch out of blythe and come all the way to imperial.

That would be a pretty cool trip if there weren't any ****s between. But I think there are is one a ittle north of Blythe.

Darrel, I have some buddies who ride roughly where you're at. They can ride even on big weekends throughout the day.

I'm jealous of both Tyler & Darrel's spots. We have a place on the Parker Strip. Fun place, but only butter is at 6:00am, which I'm good with but my crew struggles from time to time because they partake in a few too many adult beverages the night before. But I would LOVE to be able to ride all day long like when I go on houseboat trips.

                  Aaaahhhhh...houseboat trips.

BKinsocal or anyone else on the board please excuse this hijack but I have never done a houseboat trip. However, we are doing Powell the last week in July this year on the biggest/baddest 75' extreme houseboat out of Antelope Point Marina. Any suggestion or recommendations of things to do/bring? I know the basics but am curious if there is any speicfic house boat recommendations....
