Are Most New Boat Owners Underwater??

I am currently in the market for a used boat. Since I have been looking, it seems to me that most used 2005-2008 model prices are higher than what you could buy a new one for. Does anyone else seem to be seeing this in their area? Also, I hate to sound like a **** to sellers, but I am not going to buy a used boat when I can buy a new one at the same price. Let me know your guys thoughts.

I think the term you are speaking of is more commonly called underside down; and yes, most new boat owners are if they did not put a lot of money down or pay for it all up front.
There are many variables that would cause that, i.e. how new the boat is based on how long your term loan is.

Some other examples are many upgrades one has put into their boat greater than what it was purchased with.

Not sure what you are looking for. But I've seen some great pricing on some 2-3 year old boats. I do think that a lot of owners could be upside down.
